Locust initiative launches

At an April event, ASU launched its Global Locust Initiative, led by Senior Sustainability Scientist Arianne Cease, to connect international experts to combat the expensive damage the insects commit worldwide.

ASU's Doris Duke Scholars

Three sustainability students have been selected as participants in the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program. They will study conservation issues and intern with environmental non-profits, research universities and government agencies.

ASU has appointed Sanjeev Khagram, a world-renowned expert in global leadership, the international political economy, sustainable development and the data revolution, as the next director-general and dean of Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Dean Boone takes the field

School of Sustainability Dean Christopher Boone agreed to throw out the first pitch on Earth Day at the Arizona Diamondbacks Major League Baseball game. The pitch was good enough not to go viral on social media. We'll call that a win.
