          14th Annual Local to Global Justice Forum and Festival

(Friday-Sunday, February 27-March 1, 2015) Please join us on for the 14th Annual Local to Global Justice Forum and Festival (Formerly known as the Teach-In!). This year's theme, Water Justice, reminds us that the Earth's life-blood, essential to all living beings on the planet, is under threat of pollution, privatization, or thievery. This year's Forum and Festival will feature an amazing array of groups and speaker working to insure that water remains free and accessible to all. Our keynote speakers will address struggles over water access in Africa and Latin America. We will continue our practice of creating larger panel discussions where multiple groups share the stage in plenary-style dialogue. There will be smaller workshops and hands-on exhibits of permaculture practice, activities and workshops for children and youth, and tabling from over 40 community groups. We will again feature free music and performances from a number of local artists, and our incredible healthy and delicious, and free, lunches and snacks.           2nd Singapore Sustainability Symposium: Sustainable City Design

(Wednesday-Thursday, April 15-17, 2015) With the continued commitment of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to sustainability and urban solutions that are transdisciplinary, transboundary, and fully integrated, NTU's Sustainable Earth Office (SEO) and Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS), in collaboration with a number of Singapore’s Agencies, are organizing the second S3 in Singapore. The symposium will have a Singaporean flavor, with a special interest in the challenges faced by cities and urbanization. The title of this year's symposium is Sustainable City Design, and S3 will again serve as early input to the World Cities Summit (held next summer 2015 in New York). This year's symposium will begin with a public lecture and discussion panel including the presentation by a Minister of key objectives from Singapore's new sustainability plan. More information.

Solid Waste Association of North America National Solid Waste Design Competition

The National Solid Waste Design Competition, created by SWANA's Young Professionals (YP) group, is a team competition that asks participants to solve a "real world" problem faced by solid waste professionals. The competition aims at providing design experience for students interested in pursuing an education and/or career in solid waste management. Additionally, the SWDC aims to encourage student involvement in WASTECON®, provide students with practical solid waste management-related experience, and establish an excellent networking opportunity for students. The competition will take place at SWANA 's annual conference, WASTECON®, August 25-27, 2015, in Orlando, Florida. Awards will be presented to the top two teams, with maximum overall scores. Participating students will also receive a free WASTECON® 2015 registration and SWANA student membership. Are you student who's interested or do you know students who may be interested? Arizona Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship and Grant Application

The Arizona Association of Environmental Professionals (AZAEP) seeks outstanding students for the Future Environmental Professionals Scholarship and also students comprising an outstanding group, organization, or class project for the Future Environmental Professionals Grant. The scholarship and grant will each carry an award of $1,500.00, plus a one-year student membership in AZAEP. The objective of the scholarship and grant is to assist undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full-time in a degree program at an accredited Arizona college or university in their preparation for a career as an environmental professional. Students enrolled in Community colleges pursuing a two-year terminal degree or a transfer program may apply. Students must be enrolled full-time as stipulated by their program requirements.
